Construction of new elevators is scheduled to begin March 24, 2014. The mechanisms and cables will be replaced, the cabs renovated. The schedule for the work shows that it is due to be completed August 28, 2014. During much if not all of this time- approximately 5 months- only one elevator will be available at any given time.

About Willamette Towers:
Willamette Towers was completed in 1965 and, rising to 13 stories, was Eugene's tallest downtown apartment building. It was designed in the modern period of American architecture known as International Style as a project of the federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) department. It was converted to a condominium- formally a Home Owners Association (HOA)- in 1980. According to the Emporis website, Willamette Towers is the westernmost high rise in the contiguous 48 states.
